(β-Chamigrene is the parent compound of subclass of sesquiterpenes found in various marine and terrestrial plants. The stereoisomer β-chamigrene is the most common in nature. It is a sesquiterpene, which means it consists of three isoprene units, totaling 15 carbon atoms. Chamigrene-related compounds are characterized by a spiro[5.5]undecane core with an all-carbon quaternary stereocenter at the junction of the spirocycle.

Uses and applications of this compound have not been widely established, due to limeted research. However, sesquiterpenes in general have shown potential anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antimicrobial properties.
