Camphene

Camphene is a naturally occurring organic compound classified as a bicyclic monoterpene. It is characterized by its bicyclic structure containing two fused rings. Camphene is found in various essential oils, including those of certain coniferous trees and some herbs like rosemary. It has a pungent, earthy aroma and is often used in the fragrance industry. It is a minor constituent of many essential oils such as turpentine, cypress oil, camphor oil, citronella oil, neroli, ginger oil, valerian, and mango. It is produced industrially by isomerization of the more common alpha-pinene using a solid acid catalyst such as titanium dioxide.

Like many terpenes it exhibits antioxidant, analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. It is often found in cannabis but is rarely among the most abundant ones. It is usually found in higher potency strains.
