Pinene is one of the most common cannabis terpenes that carries a distinct pine scented bouquet. There are two types, a-pinene and b-pinene, but a-pinene is most prevalent in cannabis. a-pinene is also the most naturally occurring terpene around the world.
a-pinene is best known for its presence in coniferous trees and rosemary essential oils. Its fresh, pine scent promotes airflow in the lungs and may even improve memory by inhibiting acetylcholinesterase enzymes. Additionally, a-pinene is known for its anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial benefits.
