Sesquiterpenes generally contribute to the earthy, woody, and sometimes slightly spicy or resinous aromas of the plants where they are found.
Uses and applications of this compound have not been widely established, due to limeted research. However, sesquiterpenes in general have shown potential anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antimicrobial properties. The results in a 2014 study have indicated that the leaves of mixed-type C. osmophloeum and essential oil alloaromadendrene have the potential for use as a source for antioxidants or treatments to delay aging
